Task

A client from Peru wanted to live in Ukraine and work legally, in his own business. He needed not one service but the whole chain, where every step depends on the one before.

Why the order decides everything

Without a tax number you can't register a company. Without a company there's nobody to issue a work permit. Without a work permit there's no ground for a residence permit. And depending on citizenship, entering Ukraine to obtain the permit may require a type D visa. Get the order wrong, and you have to leave and start again.

What we did

  1. Obtained a Ukrainian tax number for the foreigner.
  2. Registered an LLC with the client as founder.
  3. The company obtained a permit to employ him as director.
  4. Prepared the documents for the visa.
  5. Filed for the temporary residence permit.

Documents from abroad were translated and certified; we worked with the client in English.

Result

The residence permit was obtained. The client lives and works in Ukraine on a lawful basis.

The takeaway

If you're a foreigner planning a business in Ukraine, plan all the steps as one package. You can start with the immigration navigator or the business for foreigners page.
