Grounds for a temporary residence permit
A temporary residence permit is issued on a specific ground: work for a Ukrainian company, a stake in a business, study, marriage or family reunification, volunteering. Work permits for foreigners
If a foreigner is moving for work, the employer first obtains a permit to employ them, and only then does the employee apply for the residence permit. For companies I handle the whole process: the permit, the employment contract, the residence permit.
D visa
Depending on your citizenship, entering Ukraine to obtain a residence permit may require a type D visa. I check this first, because the whole plan and the timeline depend on it.
